Keyword Stuffing in Your Business Name: How a Few Extra Words Get Profiles Suspended

Adding "best", a city or a service to the business name may lift rankings briefly, but it is a direct guideline breach and a common trigger for suspension, especially once a competitor reports it.

What the guideline says

Your listing name should reflect the name used consistently on signage, stationery and branding. Extra descriptive words are not allowed unless they are part of that real-world name.

How it gets caught

Automated checks catch some cases, but many come from competitor edit suggestions and reports. Once flagged, the whole listing can be reviewed, not just the name.

Fixing it

  1. Change the name back to your real trading name.
  2. Make sure your website, signage and documents show the same name.
  3. Put services in the category, services and description fields instead.
  4. If suspended, include registration documents showing the correct name with your appeal.
