Google Business Profile Video Verification: How to Record It Right the First Time

Video verification has become Google's main way to confirm a business is real. A single unbroken recording has to show location, business equipment and proof of management. Here is how to get it accepted on the first attempt.

Keep it continuous

The recording should be one unbroken take. Cuts, edits or separate clips make Google suspect the footage was assembled from different places.

Match the listing exactly

The name on your signage and the address you show should match the listing. If your signage shows a different trading name, fix the listing or the signage before recording.

Service-area businesses

If customers do not visit you, show a branded work vehicle, tools, and proof you manage the business, such as unlocking a storage unit or opening business software with your account visible.

Common rejection reasons

  • Signage that is temporary, handwritten or missing
  • Footage shot entirely indoors with no location context
  • Poor lighting or shaky footage where details cannot be read
  • Showing a residence with no business evidence for a storefront listing
