Virtual Offices and Coworking Spaces: When a Business Profile Address Does Not Count

A virtual office gives you a prestigious address, but Google does not consider it a location of your business. It is one of the fastest routes to a hard suspension.

What does not count

  • Mail forwarding or virtual office addresses
  • PO boxes and mailbox services
  • Hot desks with no fixed space or signage
  • An accountant's or lawyer's address used for registration only

Coworking can work

A coworking space can qualify if you have a dedicated, signed space that is staffed during your hours and where customers are received. Expect Google to ask for proof, often through video verification.

If your only address is virtual

Consider listing as a service-area business with the address hidden, if you travel to customers. If you have neither a real location nor a service area, the business may not be eligible for a Business Profile.
